I believe we as humans are all “Screaming Data,” literally from the second we’re born. The doctor pulls us out, spanks our butt and we start “screaming” data…in Juliana’s case, incredibly loud!
As our kids grow older, I believe they continue to scream as much or even more data, but now, rather than listening with the goal of hearing what they’re really trying to communicate in guttural cries, we parents often perceive their “screams” as being disobedient or disrespectful (like my daughter, Juliana, sneaking into our room each night). If we’re being truly honest, these “screams” can feel like a giant pain in the butt, which they oftentimes are. But if we pay attention, I believe the screams provide a powerful “data-grab” on who our kids are, what they need, and how we can best edit THEIR story.
But this isn’t where the “Screaming Data” ends. In fact, if we learn to listen we can hear the “screams” of customers, employees, and (most importantly) our significant others.
YOUR JOURNEY MATTERS MOST.
